this was the best deal i could find on a name brand rechargeable 9 volt. it arrived quickly and only cost about $ 7. i ordered 4 and qualified for free shipping. i was charged shipping by the computer but amazon gave a credit the next day when i told them of the error. so far, the batteries are working, though energizers seem to last longer . i had to order on the net because neither target, walmart ,ace nor any store within 30 miles sells 9 volt rechargeable s any more. they are $13 at home depot.since a throw away 9 volt costs about $7 and may only last a year or so in a smoke detector, required in most homes in ca. , i'm amazed that most people , of the millions who own them, don't try to save some money by buying rechargeable s. obviously, there is little demand for them so, while many complain about a lack of money, they don't bother to take advantage of the savings rechargeable s provide.I have purchased these batteries in 9 volt and AA sizes. In both cases their performance was inferior to the discontinued Rayovac Hybrid NiMh batteries that they seem to be designed to replace. They delivered less voltage and power under a given load, and they didn't seem to retain there charge as well. I really wanted to give them a two star rating just to voice my protest against the widespread trend of companies that make their products cheaper in misguided efforts to increase their bottom line. Am I the only person to notice that after about ten years all these companies end up in trouble and either get bought out, bailed out, or go bankrupt? But product reviews should be about the products themselves and not corporate policies. These batteries are very average, and since I do not know why Rayovac, a company I used to think well of, would replace an above average product with a lesser one for about the same price, I will stick to just rating the product. If you want a really great rechargeable hybrid NiMh battery, the Maha Imedion batteries are absolutely the best I have used. They are a bit pricey, but well worth the money.I purchased three units of this battery for use in audio transmitter packs. I had a good experience with the predecessor model (Battery is reliable and the charge seems to last at least as long as a standard 9v making the rechargeable a great buy. However, this battery is slightly larger than a standard 9v battery. If your battery has to fit into a specialty holder, it may not fit easily. Example for me, my guitar requires a 9v that fits in a battery holder then is inserted into the guitar body, it is just to snug to fit in that holder.Do not hold a charge very longI bought this for a gun safe with an electronic lock. Regular batteries don't retain enough charge to open the safe. This does the trick.Overall a solid rechargable, but doesn't seem to hold its charge if left unused for more than 24 hours after charging. I've been using this battery interhangeably with an Energizer 9 volt rechargeable (for a pain management device I use 8 hours each day), and the Energizer seems to hold its resting charge much longer. While the Rayovac will die in minutes if more than a day has passed since charging, the Energizer powers the unit for a at least 16 hours even if it's been several days since the battery was recharged. As long as the Rayovac is used within that 24 hour window, though, it performs well.Great battery for G gauge train controller.
