I bought this flash light to use it for spotting out my doggies pee. I was potty training him at the time and he was still having accidents, and I wanted to spot those accidents, to clean them. What made me buy this particular flashlight was that it was the only one that came with batteries compared to others, and it was also a good price.Don’t fall for it! I only got to use it 2 times and the 3rd time it did not turn on. So, I figured, it must be the batteries, they probably included cheap batteries. So, I changed them to NEW batteries (that work in other devices) and the flashlight still would not turn on. It completely stopped working! Don’t waste your money, spend a couple more dollars and buy yourself a good one! These are cheaply made and won’t last.The reason I gave it 2 stars and not 1 is because of the brightness, the little time that it did work it did what it was suppose to.PerfectThe biggest reason that I got this was to go on a personal search for "Blaschko's lines" that I read about online. Apparently with a powerful enough UV light, it is theoretically possible to see "stripes" on humans, so of course the first thing I did when this light arrived was to strip down, turn off the lights and look for these "stripes." Much to my disappointment, neither I nor my wife could find any stripes on either of us, but it does highlight some stretch marks, and for some reason, my well-worn toe nails.After that I turned off the lights in the house and walked around inspecting all the floors. On one staircase there was a big splotch of a stain that lit right up when using the backlight, but completely undetectable in normal light. We have no idea what that was about since those stairs have been cleaned weekly with a deep-clean carpet cleaner. The rest of the house was mostly devoid of any other hidden stains, but a close inspection of the carpet in our master bedroom would be enough to make me throw out the carpet entirely if it weren't for the fact that we're renting. I'm not sure if the people renting before us had a messy pet, or if they ended up trying to hide a body, but I feel a lot better about getting our deposit back after I show the landlord pictures of the carpet under UV light when we moved in. Despite regualr deep-cleanings, there's something that showing up on the UV light, but we're just going to keep doing deep-carpet shampooing and try to ignore that part.So maybe that's a product warning. Don't shine it on anything that you don't want to be thinking about aver time you walk over that particular are bare-footed.Otherwise It was mostly fun and games using this light. I took it outside but saw nothing of interest. I took it around to each of the bathrooms in the house and predictably, some were immaculate, and the ones that the teenagers use... was not. So tomorrow I'll be going back in there with a bucket of bleach and rubber gloves to work on the cleaning the walls. Again - be careful what you're looking for.The best part for me was verifying that my laundry game is on-point. Not a single sheet showed as much as a white splotch under UV light, and with 4 adults and 2 man-children under the same roof, I thought that was a win.Regarding the construction of the device, the flashlight seems to be perfectly acceptable. It claims to have 51 LEDs in the that comically large light head, which i did not count, but it does feel like a solid [aircraft] metal casing that can take a drop if one were to accidentally drop it. Luckily it also comes with a wrist strap, and with this flashlight, the batteries are included. A nice touch.I got this with the intent of using it when I travel. But I won’t be using it for that. I’ve used it around the house and was pretty shocked at how badly I clean. To know it was that dirty was a huge out off. What you don’t know won’t hurt.I like that it came with batteries, it’s a basic torch with UV function that works.This UV flashlight has a wider beam than others I've tried which was helpful. I like that it uses batteries so it is portable for travel without needing to recharge it as much as I love rechargeables. Just use rechargeable batteries instead! It works well enough but isn't outstanding. For that reason, I think it is fairly priced. UV light can be both fun and disturbing in what it reveals so the kids love to play with it, too.Good size and nice bright light. easy to use. made in china.I needed this light to check some “Vaseline” glassware products, which glows under UV light.This worked perfectly, see photo.The light seems well made with a heavy duty aluminum frame.I am very happy with this flashlight. It is very durable and my son has turned into a scorpion hunter plus an investigator. I have to order one more, apparently he decided to keep it.
