Coverage vs sunlight PEARL’s beam covers entrances up to 15 ft wide—7 ft in bright sunlight: more than enough for standard double doors! Type of Entrances & Doors Designed for outward opening doors, mall entrances, and corridors, PEARL can also work with inward opening doors if the sensors are mounted beyond the door swing. Essentially: nothing, should block the direct signal between the sensors, including glass. Fully automatic doors, which open when a person is detected, typically have an infrared safety sensor that may interfere with the PEARL's counting ability. Therefore, unless you can install farther away, we do not recommend the PEARL for these types of entrances.
