great case for the now-discontinued UV-3r - i dremel the upper inner curved plastic notches inside the case flush, then dremel the aluminum screw platform hole on the UV-3r flush - the result? a perfect fitting 3-AA battery case for the UR-3rthe only downside is that this case costs as much as the 2M transceiver! LOL!but i also have a VX-3R (now also discontinued), so this case will be a spare
