No more outlets that you can't use. The USB Charger is a game changer. With all of the devices and tools we have around the house, outlets have become a scarce resource. Forget about trying to accommodate everyone when guests arrive. SnapPower USB Chargers let you free up outlets to maximize the space you do have. Sleek, convenient, attractive and easy, the USB will change the way you think about charging. From appliances in the kitchen, to tablets in the family room, to phones in the bedrooms, SnapPower covers them all.

I have an automatic soap dispenser on my kitchen sink with a rechargeable battery. When the battery needs to be recharged we can still use the dispenser by plugging it into this device.I was pretty skeptical about the Snap Power wall plate. I had actually purchased a full replacement outlet with USB ports built in but when I tried to install it discovered that the metal conduit connected to the junction box prevented the much larger outlet from sitting flush with the wall, so back went the old outlet and off to Amazon went I.I was looking for a lower profile outlet when I came across the Snap Power and figured "Amazon will take it back when it doesn't work".Silly me, it's great. I pulled the original face plate and took a quick look to ensure that the old outlet had contacts on either side. It did so I turned off the breaker - which naturally killed the lights in the room because of course it did - screwed the Snap plate on, obsessively fiddled with it to get it level, and reset the breaker. I'm a poor typist so it really did take about as long to do as it took me to describe in the previous sentence.I've got a little USB power meter to check chargers and what not and it shows a steady 5.16 v at 4 ma - sue me I don't know the proper abbreviations :)It's a terrific little idea and I wish I'd thought of it first. Also if you look at the photo pretend that the outlet itself is as shiny and pristine as the plate. I feel kind of slovenly now :)Was not until I got the product that I found it is not suppose to be used with GFCI outlets. That is the outlet I was getting this for.It will fit if I turn it upside down. I also verified it will work. But would have preferred it to be used for GFCI outlets. So easy to install.. snap in and screw. All of the rooms in my house have the outlets for the tv high up on the wall so wires won’t hang everywhere.. I love having the usb in back of the tv for whatever devices my kids plug in.. roku sticks, fire sticks, etc. Eliminates the clutter of wires all over or dressers ruining wires from being pushed up too close to the wall. Most other brands of this type of usb outlet cover that I've seen provide two outlets, on on each side of the bump at the bottom, the snapons only have one, this is disappointing but not a deal breaker, as I only need two usb ports on a few outlets. The fingers that contact the power in the outlet are very small and positioned so that the outlet will only work when in installed one way. If your outlets are installed to code (what many people would call upside down, with the ground at the top) then you can only install these with the usb at the top of the outlet. Because of the inflexibility of the installation it can be difficult or impossible to plug in a right angle plug or some power supplies at the same time, since the bump would interfere with the appliance or cord and mounting the usb port the other way doesn't work. All in all this style of usb outlet cover is an excellent way of resolving the growing need for usb power in American homes and offices, but these SnapPower ones have done a very bad job of it and you should invest in a different brand. It looks fine and works but if it is under kitchen cabinets, it is hard to plug into; used 3 times, 2 of which didn't charge because plug did not go in all the way (couldn't see under the cabinet) so it just sat there. Would have rated 5 stars except for that.I purchased this for my parents who didn't have many places to charge cell phones and when we gather at their house, we were all looking for cables and a place to plug them in. I installed this in their house and nobody noticed until it was pointed out. It's used a lot and is very convenient. The only thing that would make it better is if you could plug in 2 phones instead of one. I'd buy it again. This was not as easy to install as I thought but hubby got it in, We had to trim the little prongs on the sides to get it to fit, Its a convenient little gadget I use in my kitchen to be able to charge my phone without having the usual cube in the wall.
